Bouncing between meals and sugars is always difficult. I’m getting better at sending when I have too much blood sugar though. Slightly queasy feeling.

Metformin HO
Since my baseline numbers are still too high, low dose metformin was recommended for a month until my diet
Lower and lower
215 this morning! Apparently my pancreas is deciding to pick up the slack a little. Still not great, but if I can get it under 200 it will be even better!
Blood, sweat and pee
Had my official tests today, waiting for my results.
Worried a little about my ketones since my urine is dark the last day or so since starting a keto diet. Just have to stay hydrated I guess. My blood sugar was higher this morning, which was disappointing. It could have been the cherries? Maybe I’ll limit even more, like an after dinner cherry?
It’s frustrating because I still want to be able to eat some stuff.
The No Good Very Bad Pancreas

As I sat there in shock, I realized that although second shift should make you sleepy, it shouldn’t make you sleepy after every meal.
It had been about two weeks, and it was starting to get ridiculous. Couldn’t stay awake for the life of me.
No headaches, maybe a little nausea, but my GI tract had been screwed since I was very young so I just brushed it off. Same thing with the tiredness. Just had an important assignment at work, thought it was stress and me catching up with sleep.
My body will not let me have tons of sugar anymore. I sleep, I feel sick. I’m not sure when I started feeling this shitty, but I fear it’s been longer than I realized.
With this number, I don’t even need an A1c test, although my family doc will want confirmation. In the last three days I’ve gotten used to the finger pricks dotting my fingers. I’ll probably fast for tomorrow, as I’ve got an interview for my kiddo, and I’ll most likely be going in for bloodwork.
I’m on Day 2 of completely modifying my sugar intake. I’m using the GI app (for glycemic index) and iTrackBites on the sugar setting. Honestly no real sugar cravings yet.
